Thinking about incorporating weights into your training plan? Do it smart with these simple rules:

1) Avoid doing hard workouts on consecutive days.

2) Don't schedule an intense weight workout within 24 hours before or after a long hard run.

3) A core workout with light weights and stretching can be done on your recovery rest day or a light mileage day.
