In the beginning I looked forward to and was actually a little excited about my weekend training runs for the SF Marathon. But ever since I got severe hip pain on my 8 mile run (and anything over 8 miles since) I don't look forward to my weekly maintenance runs and weekend group runs. Basically, all the fun has been replaced with pain. OK, maybe not all the fun but a majority of it. Who looks forward to an activitiy that has a lot of pain associated with it? Not me. Stretching helps with the hip pain, but how do you repair a previously motivated spirit?
