Tired of the track? Try doing your speed workouts on a trail; here's how:

On a gently rolling trail, run 12 3 to 6 minute fartlek (speed burst) intervals hard (60 - 70% effort) running followed by a rest interval of the same duration. Recover by running an easy pace the same duration as the hard effort.
