Having withdrawals

I commented last week on the post about running when you are sick.  Decided not to run on Monday due to still not feeling great.  Well, Monday night not feeling great turned into feeling horrible.  Ended up at the dr. office and was told I have URI.  I haven't been able to run at all.  And I want to so badly.  Running is my drug of choice.  Running gets me through the day, relieves stress and makes all things bearable.  I use my treadmill alot during this heat.  I feel like it is staring at me wondering when we'll get together again.  Does anyone else feel this way?

Traxee user bmoore Oh, I would so stay quiet while you recover from this. One time, I failed to follow doctor's orders with a throat and ear thing and I started to lose my hearing! Take care...rest...illness is always your body's way of telling you that's what it needs. The good news is, as a runner, you'll bounce back fast!

Traxee user tross I hope I will be able to do a little next week. I have been spending most of my time on the couch. I'm a little disappointed because I still have a sore throat and ears. Until that clears up I'm not going to push it.

Traxee user bmoore Oh man! Oh I know this feeling so well. I was sick last week and I was in the worst mood just not being able to run and feeling sh*tty. I know its hard, but you HAVE to give your body the rest it needs to heal properly. Do you have any sense as to how long you'll be down for?

Traxee user LaurieB continuation ... summers are free and easy for me so I can indulge when I want (need) to.

Traxee user LaurieB Get better soon running friend. Running is becoming my drug of choice too. I think of it all the time, I feel guilty when I can not visit it. My treadmill is a quick fix when I LET other things interfere with running. Lucky for me (or not) I work in the field of education and the summer is free and easy for me (broke).
