Help

Earlier I posted a "I need help getting through the blog" well thanks to many comments, here is where I am at.  I started this program going only a block, now last night I ran one mile without stopping.  I marked out two new routes, a two mile and a four mile route, all of gravel road and rolling hills.  I now take my new running buddy, an 8 month old black lab, Angus, who is very energetic and is up for the challenge!!  I also went out and bought a pair of "girl" running shorts instead of my son's outgrown basketball shorts!! Thank you again for all the helpful suggestions.

Traxee user bmoore Hahahaah - we may be athletes, but that doesn't mean we're not still girls at heart. I actually reward myself with some small gear present, a new headband, shorts, etc. I don't know why it serves to motivate but hey, if it works...

Traxee user LaurieB Oh yeah, girl running clothes help a lot, but I gotta say I too run in my son's outgrown shorts every once and awhile .

Traxee user stargazor101 Everyone who has posted help suggestions, thank you. I went out and bought a pair of women running shorts, vs. the basketball shorts that my son has outgrown.. haha sillly, but last nights run was better. I started running only a block, last night I ran a mile without stopping. I have marked out a two mile route, and a four mile route, all country hills, and added my sons dog Angus, a 8 moonth old lab, that loves the outdoors and various water spots we come across. So again, thank you thank you thank you. I have no doubt I will get that runners feeling back!! This sunday is my difficult day, and will attempt to run four miles.

Traxee user LaurieB Run it, time it, log it, bring a buddy that likes dogs. Enter a race, or go watch one...you will get that old feeling back

Traxee user bmoore Alas stargazor - there's only one way to get through it and that's to keep going. Now, let me freshen your memory. Go back five years ago and remember - I know you will - that morning/day/evening in your past training when all of a sudden you felt like you were flying...you ran with ease, your arms and legs and breathe in perfect synchronization. It made you smile. It made you proud. THAT"S why you're doing this. Remember? You can get there again. You will.

Traxee user firegirruns Truely a hard one....For myself, I try to find quotes, pictures, blogs, ect to keep my mind in check. I also remind myself that I have set a goal and don't want to feel like I have let myself down by not completing that goal. I have Yearly goals and weekly goals. I hope this little bit helps.
