Housebound Training?

I have 2 small children and am somewhat housebound for several months. Is there something I can do in my house to "pre-train" for running?  It's been years since I have run, and wasn't very good at it then anyway. I want to give it another chance and I'm hoping that doing something now can relieve some of the starting up pain for later on when I can get out and really go for it. Thanks!

Traxee user moofieruns I can really relate to this. It's so hard to find time to train even when you DON'T have kids! The thing you really need to do if you are going to start running is to stregthen your feet, calves, glutes, etc. If there's any way you can get out with a stroller and start a walking regimen, that would be the best. The other thing you could do is get either a treadmill or an eliptical machine. Either is good for strengthening and also cardio conditioning. (It's great for losing that extra "baby weight" too ), AND there's the added benefit of being able to stay at home with the kids. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
