Traxee Tip: Stretch AFTER you run

Traxee Tip: Stretch AFTER you run by bmoore

New research shows that pre-run stretching may actually increase the risk of injury, temporarily weakening muscles and decreasing speed. Holding a muscle in an elongated position does not prepare those same muscles for running. Stretching post-run can actually increase the rate of intake of carbs into muscle cells, an effect which enhances glycogen storage and provides the energy needed for repairing muscle fibres after strenuous efforts.
