What To Eat Before A Run

What To Eat Before A Run by bmoore

When your schedule is crazy and you’ve got to run, what do you do when you’re hungry? I am always waking up early, then having something unanticipated happen that keeps me from getting out the door at the expected time.

One of the worst things you can do is run distance at a deficit, but I tend to get hungriest in the morning and I feel I have to eat something before I head out the door.

Here’s some stuff that I’ve found that I can eat before a run and I have never had any kind of digestive problems after doing so.

For most people, eating these things won’t lead to stomach upset. Just remember to wait at least a half an hour after eating befor jumping into exercise.

- One cup container of Fat Free Yogurt (I like Vanilla ‘cause it’s sweet ;-)
- Half cup of Cheerios (dry) and a half a banana
- Half of a whole wheat bagel, toasted with some peanut butter
- Half an apple sliced, with a dap of peanut butter on each slice
