Got An iPhone? Accurately Track Calories With The Food Scanner App
I love my Blackberry, but this is enough to get me to switch to an iPhone.
Last week an iPhone app was released by Daily Burn called FoodScanner. Basically, the application uses your iPhone's camera to scan the bar codes on the foods you buy and links your input to complete nutritional information (nutrients, calories, etc.). You can also track non-packaged foods by searching by name or brand. The app links to a humungous database on the Daily Burn website of more than 200,000 foods. You can keep daily food logs AND actually breakdown your meals by nutrients and calories as well. Brilliant! You can also upload all of your food information directly to your personal log on the Daily Burn website if you so choose.
This is a great way to track your calorie intake daily and is especially helpful for those of us with special nutritional needs and those training for races.
Right now Daily Burn is offering the application for just $.99. Check it out and visit Daily Burn for an online demo:
