The PERFECT Running Top (From An Unexpected Place)

I have to admit, I am always on the look out for great running gear. I find that when I am in a slump, or having trouble staying motivated, getting something new to run in always seems to inspire me and since I'm pretty picky about these things I really like to "challenge" manufacturers to create women's running gear that not only performs well, but also looks great on a woman's body.

A couple of weeks ago, I happened by my local Lululemon and checked out the latest fall colors. I really had no intention of buying anything (and you know, Lulu is pricey). But then I saw it hanging on the wall...it's the "Swiftly Tech" - a super-soft knit top in the most delicious of colors - kind of a plum - and I had to try it on.

Wow! this top really looks amazing on - it kind of hugs the body, but not too tightly, with knit-in shaping that is just fabulous. Yeah, I plunked down the $58 bucks (I told you they are pricey) and waited for the next foggy morning to try it out.

I got to tell you - this baby PERFORMED! Incredibly wicking, incredibly soft with looks to die for. I couldn't believe it. My husband (who never notices anything) took once look at this shirt on me and said "that top is amazing!" But here's the best part. I found it to be totally "anti-stink." I ran a 5-miler and was totally stink free! I've heard this claim before about numerous hi-tech fabrics but it never seems to be true. Swiftly Tech kept its word in this regard.

Truth is, I really never expected to find a running top this great at Lululemon. I mean I love their stuff and all, but their thing is Yoga, you know? I may have to change my mind about this brand.
