Athleta - Active Women's Clothing

Athleta - Active Women's Clothing by Betty

This Athleta catalog keeps popping up in the mail and it looks comfy and delicious....but have any of you bought merchandise from this compnay before? I always prefer reccomendations before I purchase new things. I am the girl that always orders the same dish at a restaurant...afraid of being disappointed! On the other hand, I'll drop everything to get in on a roadtrip and it doesn't matter where we are going :).

So, if any of you women runners out there have or are using this brand's active women's wear line, I would love to hear back from you!

Thanks,

-B.

Traxee user bmoore Oooh SALE! Now you're talking...especially right now. I've tagged like 6 or 7 pages with stuff I want. I think you're right - for some reason I am thinking the big sale is kind of an end-of-summer thing. Do you guys ever check Shop It To Me? They are kind of a sale site with multiple retailers and catalogers. They send you an email every week with new marked down stuff from Nike, New Balance, RoadRunner, and a lot more. Check it out at http://www.shopittome.com/running.

Traxee user Boxergirl I LOVE Athleta!! I would buy all my clothes there if I could afford it;). Bathing suits are top notch - great quality. They also offer most of their pants in petite which are super hard to find in athletic wear. I try to stock up during their big end of season sales - one is in Jan. I can't remember when the second one is...sorry!! Maybe August?? You definitely won't be disappointed! Hope this helps.

Traxee user bmoore Ooh, that's good to know. I have the opposite challenge - small on top - bigger on the bottom, (thanks mom ;-)), so it sounds like I might go one size bigger on the bottoms. Thanks for the tip. Your post makes me long for summer with all that talk about the beach. How lucky you are to live so close!

Traxee user beans824 I feel like their running gear selection is better for cooler/colder weather. As for the bathing suits, that is the only place I've found good bikinis for larger busts. I bought their halter style bikini top with the bottoms that ruched up on each side and loved it. I live on the beach and practically lived in those suits last summer. I still throw a rashguard on if I'm out on a board, but for just swimming around and playing in the sand the suits were great as is. I feel like any of the suits that have a tie for the neck and back strap are the best bet. Bottoms tend to run small though.

Traxee user bmoore Yeah. Ironically, I just got the new Athleta catalog like a day after I posted this and it looks like they are doing a lot less running stuff these days and a lot more yoga and activewear. I'm glad you bring up the bathing suit thing because I am definitely in the market for a new one this summer and I was wondering about Athleta. Their suits are SOOO cute, and it sounds like they are truly made for active sports - not just lounging around the Beverly Hills hotel. Any particular styles that you like? I need some place to start...Now I have the catalog! ;-)

Traxee user beans824 I love Athleta. I really liked the base layer pieces I found on sale (it can get pricey otherwise). Not too mention, it's the only place I can find bikinis that fit and stay in place running around and playing in the water out here on the east coast. Quality is great though.

Traxee user bmoore Yes, I have definitely had experience with Athleta. In fact, back in the day when I lived in North Carolina there was NOWHERE to buy women's running gear in the area. Athleta was my exclusive source. Now this was a while ago, however, the quality was always good, the sizes true...and I still have some tops and bottoms from them that have held up well. Two thumbs up.
