Well, it finally happened. I found myself running this morning without thinking about my form. I believe my reform is complete. For so many months now I have had to concentrate on how I was putting my feet down and timing my pace like a metronome. That "mechanical" feeling is gone and I can run properly without being fully conscious of it. It's so funny how the brain "retrains" itself, isn't it? I really hope that this new way of running is going to help prevent future injury - but at least now I'm free to enjoy the thoughtful, peaceful time out on the road with the constant attention to my foot strike. Yay!
