Some of my girlfriends and I are training for a 1/2 marathon this spring and we're loving our results so far. I've been at it for about 3 weeks now and can't believe how great I feel. I finished my first hour run last weekend! Not only was I impressed that I ran for an hour straight, but I felt like I could have kept going. And even though the number on the scale hasn't changed, my clothes are fitting much better and that makes me want to sing!
Discussing this with my training group we all feel the same way with one exception. One of our friends has gained quite a bit of weight since she began running, enough that her clothes are too small for her now! She is the type of person who is always in great shape, does a lot of walking, plays tennis and lots other cardio that doesn't involve running. This is her first foray into consistent running and she is getting frustrated by the weight gain. She's always been a healthy eater and hasn't changed her diet all. We just don't understand what is going on?!
Any ideas on why she may be gaining weight? (So much so that her clothes no longer fit?) She is frustrated enough to give up running all together. If you have expierenced this before I would love to hear from you! I don't want my running partner to give up!
