I feel so great right now.
The appointment at the Physical Therapist went really well this morning. I ran 3 miles easily on the treadmill with no pain and Jeff helped me work on my form. We decided that I would need to confine my training to the treadmill for the next several weeks and he has given me a specific training schedule that involves getting up to 4.5 miles by the end of the week. I also have to tape my knee before running. YAY! I have to do these workouts at a pretty slow pace, but nonetheless, I am elated. 4.5 miles seems so far away right now, but he has given me the confidence and the plan to slowly work back to where I was when this injury began. He is very encouraging about the marathon training and says that I can easily get there from here. I just have to follow the program.
This of course means boring workouts onthe treadmill so I think I am going to prepare by downloading some new music. Nothing else I can do but accept it if I want to get back out there with no pain. I just have to get beyond my Type A issues and work his program. No hills. Slow pace. Watch my form. I can do this.
