Sometimes you come across ideas so fun, so original that you just have to tell everyone. Such is the case with a new company we’ve found called Banana Blossom Press.
The company, founded by two ingenious women (one a runner and one with running in her past), “designs greeting cards for people in your running group, for your spouse who runs and you don’t, for your child who had a great year in their cross-country team at school, for friends in training, for your mother who is going to walk a half-marathon after seeing you run in a marathon,” and a lot more.
Beautifully simplistic and decidedly clever, Banana Blossom Press cards are printed on white or tarragon premium-quality recycled card stock and can be purchased individually or in boxed sets right on the company’s website.
As an added plus, founders Laura and Maria take environmental stewardship and giving back to the community seriously.
The company partners with Carbonfund.org, which is dedicated to fighting climate change, and the Press’ staff volunteers and works with local and state organizations to maintain outdoor trails and wild lands and promote trail running and mountaineering as a way to experience and explore the outdoors. In addition, 5% of Banana Blossom Press profits are donated to women’s health and wellness organizations.
It feels so good to support a business that holds corporate responsibility as part of it’s core mission, and it doesn’t hurt that the cards are really witty (and sometimes ironic.)
My personal favorite Banana Blossom card? It’s from the “Etcetera” collection:
Front:
i love running
i hate running
i love running
i hate running
Inside:
relationships are hard
Can you relate?
So what's next for Banana Blossom? T-shirts! We can't wait!
