Trail-ing Happily Behind

I have just discovered the awesomeness of trail running! I used to be a street only girl, unwilling to make the drive up to the trails, but no more. A friend convinced me to go with her a few weeks ago. The softness of the dirt trail really, really slowed me down, which frustrated me at first, but then I felt a connection with the dirt under my shoes and nature all around me that was so....freeing. Much more enjoyable than the distraction of wondering if every car that whizzed by was going to mow me down!  And to top it off, my knees are thanking me for it too. Check it out if you haven't..it's worth a little drive!

Traxee user bmoore Oh man, I love trail running! I used to live in North Carolina and I would run the Wake Forest Cross Country Trail all the time. It was so incredibly beautiful, especially in the winter time with snow on the ground. I got to know the look of the woods through the 4 seasons...the birds, the wildlife. It was awesome. I agree with you. Even through it's true that running is such a great sport- one that you can do by just stepping out of your house - nothing beats a trail!
