Nurts to Nike :: Confessions of a Oiselle Convert

Nurts to Nike :: Confessions of a Oiselle Convert by bmoore

For the vast majority of my running “career” I have been a Nike girl.  I’m talking all Nike – from sweatshirts to shoes, singlets to socks.  I did stray once, back in 1998 or so with a pair of New Balance running shoes, but a knee injury (which of course I associated with my wayward shoe brand switch), set me straight back on the Air Pegasus path.

I always thought women’s running clothes were supposed to be scaled down versions of men’s gear…in pink or wacky prints.  That was before I found Oiselle and the PERFECT running shorts.  I say “shorts” plural because I own several pairs of Oiselle running shorts and they are fan-freaking-tastic.  So what, you ask, makes Oiselle stuff so amazing?  Let me count the ways:

1)   The Shape.  Believe it or not, it is not necessary to look like you are wearing a tall kitchen garbage bag when you run.  Oiselle shorts are not “pouffy” in front, they’re flat-extremely flattering and VERY slimming.

2)   The Liners.  True to fit and without binding elastic around the thighs, the cool, lightweight liners in my Oiselle shorts are so comfortable I can’t feel the panty at all.  I wish I could find underwear this comfortable.  Can anyone say “line extension?”

3)   The Fabric.  How do I love thee?  What are these things made of anyway?  My Marseille shorts are like a dream.  I have run in really hot steamy weather in these babies and I stay cool and dry.  The fabric just flows – like your favorite sundress.  Awesome!

4)   The Fit.  Can anything that performs this well actually fit great too? Well, in addition to the incredible liners, Oiselle shorts are just the right length…they cover your bum, but you don’t feel like you’re wearing skate pants.   Plus, the elastics in the waist don’t bind and there’s no drawstring to pain you.  These shorts are shaped for a woman’s body, and it shows.

I’m one of those people that evangelizes to everyone I know when I find something really great.  I just have to share. Consider yourself “evangeled.”  Oiselle is the BEST.  And if you have a hard time finding the brand in your local running store, click over to Oiselle.com.  The website is as gorgeous as the product!
