Daily Marathon Training Log - Day5

Ugh. I’m broken. Like literally. My face is broken out and I’m unsure why, the only thing I have changed in my diet is adding more water, so perhaps all of this running and water drinking is just flushing me out, I sure hope so.

I was going to count today as my day off, but that cute little box of Nike+ accessories and iPod turned up in the mail. By the time I was all hooked up and ready to go, with kids in tow, 6:30pm had hit…which meant there was a bout an hour of decent light. At first, trying to coach a 5 year old on his new training-wheel-less bike, discuss flora types with a straggling 7 year old on a scooter, watch out for driveways (we ran the neighborhood), and try to keep a decent pace going proved almost unbearable.

It wasn’t long before we hit a groove, aimlessly flowing from sidewalk to sidewalk. My pace was augmented by being in front, pulling up the end, and scoping driveways for any signs of vehicular motion, but all in all we really made it work. If it weren’t for the fact that I had to pause the Nike+ ped thingy quite a few times and perhaps had read the directions beforehand, I might have some cool stuff to tell you about it, but I did, I didn’t, and so I don’t.

I will say, dude, I love running to music, in fact, I ran better and more confident. Perhaps you can’t second-guess yourself when the music is pumping, you just have to keep on going. I should have the Nike+ thing down in a day or two and I’ll post up a review. I would love to hear about others who have it or prefer another method of tracking.

As for my miles, man I have to step it up this week, BIG, and it will be difficult as I have the kidlings most of the week, but hey, they have an endless supply of energy right?

Run: 2.25 miles – retarded time

Foods:

1 cup black coffee – 2 cal
1 Cliff bar – 250 cal (54fat)
1 mini Kit Kat – 133 cal (63fat)
1 Ramen chicken flavor – 290 cal (70fat)
1 Red Bull sugar free – 10 cal
12 vegan super mini oatmeal cookies – 150 cal (70fat)
Small plate of Vegetarian Fried Rice – 160 cal (10fat)
Slice of Zucchini Carrot bread – 170 cal (30fat)
1 square dark chocolate 75% cacoa – 180 cal (110fat)
75oz H20

Total Calories = 1,245
Total Calories burned = 201
To Maintain MY body weight I should consume = 2,257

So not only is my diet grossly lacking this week, but I am not even eating enough calories, and the ones I am, as we can all see, are not the kind of calories I need for training. Hmmm.

I could go see my nutritionist…

Traxee user Karen True, it may be that your system is flushing out, but man the air here in LA, even in the valley s pretty nasty. I have little under the skin bumps all the time.
