Maureen Ackerley Wins Napa Valley Marathon; Qualifies for 2008 Olympic Trials

Maureen Ackerley Wins Napa Valley Marathon; Qualifies for 2008 Olympic Trials by bmoore

On Sunday, March 2, Richmond, VA native Maureen Ackerley won the women's division of the Napa Valley Marathon, qualifying her for the US Olympic Women's Marathon Team Trials.  Ackerman ran a PB of 2:44:25 - a 6:15 pace, finishing 13th overall.

This win qualifies Maureen for the Olympic Trials, which will be held in Boston on April 20th.  Only three women will be selected for the Marathon squad that will compete at the August 2008 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Bejing China.

Ackerley was trained by Coach Tom at Fleet Feet in Richmond (one of my favorite running stores).

Congratulations to Maureen and good luck in April!
