RANT - Women Running For Office

I cannot deny its presence any longer. There are two types of women runners, the athletic and the political. We are witnessing, for the first time in American history, women closer to the presidential pedestal than any first lady, or mistress for that matter, has ever come. If you have ears at all I am sure they have been filled with coffee shop/office talk/online jibber jabber about the women running for office in 2008.

I have heard women express everything from fear to blind-sighted faith in our recent past and present women candidates from both parties. Are we as women, knowing our emotionally driven decision-making skills, to fear for a country not lead by men or are we to blindly follow an under-qualified candidate for the mere fact that she has a vagina?

Ladies, I am all about equality, but can we hang at the table of countries without crying in our spilled whiskey on the rocks? Well, ok…there are many different types of women with varying degrees of decision-making skills and I would never put it past a woman to be one cold hard bitch; like the man that has been running our country. Hey, maybe it is time for a matriarchal America, but can we please find someone qualified? How about over-qualified? I can think of at least five women I have had intelligent conversations with in the last month that possess more experience and wisdom than the one women we have been left with at this point. In fact, I know some soccer moms that would blow Palin out of the water…oh and their teenage daughters are not pregnant!
