Have I mentioned how cool the Internet has become? You can browse a book before buying, without hitting the bookstore. Don’t get me wrong, I have a strong affection for sniffing and fingering books, but as a single mother of two working full time and sneaking in runs among all other things, this little blurb in technology has me truly hooked. Many browsers offer a version for previewing books, but Amazon (being the company that it is) happens to be one of my favourites.
For all of the women runners out there, I want to share Shanti Sosienski’s Women Who Run of which can be previewed here.
Shanti’s book highlights the effort and spirit of women runners against the odds as mothers, marathoners, and survivors….the busy lives we lead. Written with the conversational style likened to an afternoon of sipping tea with a girlfriend while swapping stories, Shanti puts a woman runners’ drive into perspective.
On my way to the last chapter Unpacking The “Girl Box”… Have any favorite running books you would like to share?
