With IT Band issues, I was told to foam roll. When you can't take the foam roll with you this may be a great alternative. My pace group mate had one and I saw them at the expo for the SF Marathon. I didn't bring my foam roll to SF and I ended up getting one of these instead. This way you can work your muscles out while in bed, on the couch or even in the car (if you're not driving of course) instead of having to roll on the floor. There are different products depending on personal preference. It definitely feels good on my IT Band.
