On A Mission...For Sport Appropriate Skincare

On A Mission...For Sport Appropriate Skincare by bmoore

I’m always on the lookout for problem-solving gear, so I wanted to share something I’ve found that’s pretty great.

I am one of those unfortunates who suffer from extremely sensitive skin.  Everything on the planet makes me break out.  The hairspray my stylist uses, makeup of all varieties, skin care products made “for sensitive skin”…all of them give me zits.  And as a runner, and especially in the summertime, the problem gets even worse, spreading from just my face to my back and my chest.  If I apply sunscreen before my run?  Forgetaboutit!

Recently, I found a new company called Mission Products that has developed a line of “high performance athlete engineered skincare”  - products specifically created with the needs of athletes in mind.

The line consists of a 30 SPF sunscreen, 30 SPF lip protector, after-sun gel, anti-friction crème, and a foot gel.  The sunscreen comes in a convenient stick form, which I love and let me tell you it’s great! I haven’t had any irritation or breakouts at all since I’ve been using it.

The other thing about Mission is that all of the products are free of preservatives and are animal cruelty fee.  The company also sponsors numerous charitable organizations spearheaded by athletes including the Steve Nash Foundation, the Mia Hamm Foundation and the Women’s Sports Foundation (founded by Billie Jean King in 1974.)

Mission products are available on the Mission website and also at mega-retailers Foot Locker, Champs and City Sports.

Check it out!

Traxee user Betty hallelujah! I too, have this sensitive skin and it seems like no matter what, I'm always breaking out like a 14 year old. Now, since having moved to California (after dealing with adjusting to the climate) my skin has gotten significantly better. In fact, I'll never move!! So, at this point, after having tried everything on the market, I am wondering about my diet. I pretty much stick to a healthy diet along with coffee, wine, and chocolate here and there...so what the heck?! Is it all in my head?
