TraxLog for walking?

Hi Traxee! I've just started walking with the goal to run. What's the best way to note on my TraxLog if it was a walk or a run or mixed to keep track of my pace (my running pace might be the same as someone else's walking pace, sad but true)? Does it matter? I've never used a running log before, in case it's not obvious. : )

Traxee user bmoore You can approach this one of a couple of ways; 1) record the total time and pace of your workout in the TraxLog, then make a note in the "Notes" section as to how much time you spent walking, and how much running. As the amount of time you spent running increases as a percentage of your total workout time, you will see your "pace" improve dramatically...and that can be really motivating! The other thing you can do is 2) to actually record the walking portion of your workout seperately from the running portion, theeby recording pace time for each. This can get tough though if you are alternating running/walking unless you are using a running watch that will record intervals (Timex Ironman does this). Normally, runners simply keep their records as described in #1 above - recording a total pace for the entire workout. Soon we will have a way for you to select the type of activity you engaged in on your log. We'll let you know when that's done. In the meantime, try one of the above and let us know how you're doing!
