Time Pressed for Training

I am thinking about running my first marathon in the Fall.  I have a pretty good "base" of running about 20 miles a week.  PArt of my training also includes hill work and interval training (though not as much as I would like).  Most of the training programs that I look at seem to indicate that I need at least six months to train for 26.2 miles, but I'm wondering - if I don't have enough time to run 5 days a week, are there any "shorcuts" I can take?  I don't want to injur myself, but I am really time pressed.
