Marine Corps Marathon

The ALS Association – DC/MD/VA is looking for participants to run as a charity partner in the 37th Annual Marine Corps Marathon to be held October 28, 2012. ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a fatal, neuromuscular disease that kills someone every 90 minutes.

The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter is different than most of the organizations involved with the Marathon, as we do not have a required fundraising amount. We have a suggested fundraising minimum of $1,000 but runners are not charged the remaining balance if that goal is not obtained.  In order to help runners reach that goal we provide a personal webpage to tell their story, share photos, update friends and family on their progress and raise awareness.  The funds raised will directly impact persons with ALS and their families.

If you or someone you know would be interested in running in the Marathon this year please contact me at ARobinson@ALSinfo.org or 301-978-9855 ext. 207. The ALS Association – DC/MD/VA Chapter has committed to filling 25 spots this year, we are currently generating a reservation list for runners as we wait to receive the application from the MCM. When the application is sent it will be immediately sent to the runners on the reservation list. Fight ALS!
