Winter running wreaks havoc on your running shoes. Its a bad idea to run in soaking wet shoes, but you should NEVER dry your running shoes near the heater or throw them in the dryer, which will break down the soles. There are a lot of fun, "homegrown" solutions to drying your shoes, but one surefire way to ensure that you always have a dry pair is to alternate between two pairs, allowing the wet pair to dry naturally. If you currently don't own two pairs of shoes, the early spring sales are about to start, so if you can, pick up an extra pair for a good price and keep dry feet through the next couple of months!
