My first 5K EVER!! 6.30.10



This was my first race, my first 5K....and was on the 8th day of my walk/jog program...didn't come in first, didn't come in last ~ but I loved it!!  Only problem was I forgot my watch (UGH) ~ so I think I might have gone out too fast...it's now the Sunday after (4th of July) and I'm still having a lot of knee aches...so, I've still been walking, but the running is on hold for now...if I can offer any advice (and I am still a total newbie) it would be to really focus on staying with your training program, and not worry about the time...some people didn't finish ~ I do think it is common to start out too fast...but I am disappointed that I am still aching so much 4 days later....live and learn...and I definitely learned my lesson...I hope to run another 5K this summer...no ~ I will be running another 5K this summer!!  Thanks for the support!
